The best attachments for expanding your mower beyond mowing

Written by Grasshopper Mower | Jan 22, 2026

Mowing the lawn is a huge part of maintaining your property. That said, mowing likely represents just one aspect of everything you have to do outside to make sure your property is the envy of the neighborhood.

Grasshopper mower attachments will help you get a lot of that work done a lot more efficiently. Plus, you’ll get additional use out of your Grasshopper mower all year long.

Grasshopper offers 10 different types of attachments for use with its mowers. Three of those attachments are especially popular with residential users who take their work as seriously as a professional.

Attachments that help with bagging

A zero-turn mower with a bagger allows you to mow and vacuum at the same time, making it a great solution from early spring through late fall.

The most obvious use is to collect grass clippings while you mow, which can come in handy when you have to cut unusually long or wet grass, or when you’re getting ready to do some outdoor entertaining and want a squeaky clean lawn. Well-engineered bagging systems are also effective at collecting leaves in the fall.

Grasshopper’s PowerVac™ Collection Systems are engineered to do an outstanding job with everything from grass and leaves to small sticks, pine straw, acorns and seed pods. One of the secrets is the enhanced airflow which allows the mower to truly perform like a vacuum. After the mower blades slice whatever it is you’re mowing over, that debris is directed into the deck-mounted vac where a steel impeller chops and reduces it even more before propelling it up through the hose and into the collection hopper. That helps pack as much debris into the hopper as possible, reducing the number of times you’ll have to stop and empty it.

Grasshopper PowerVac Collection Systems are available for both FrontMount™ and MidMount™ mowers, and are available in either mesh or metal construction.

One unique option for FrontMount versions is the HighLift™ system which enables you to raise and extend the collection hopper behind you to dump it. That allows you to empty the hopper into truck beds or trailers, or simply reach further to dump clippings or leaves into fields, gardens, compost piles, etc. Whatever the case, the big benefit is that you’ll never have to leave the seat of the mower to empty the hopper, which will save you a ton of time and effort.

DriftBuster Snowthrowers

Available for FrontMount mowers, DriftBuster™ Snowthrowers put the typical walk-behind snowblower to shame. DriftBusters are much larger and more effective at handling deep, heavy snow. They also provide for the convenience of riding instead of walking. When paired with a Grasshopper zero-turn mower, users also gain a considerable amount of maneuverability as compared to snowblowing with a compact tractor or utility vehicle.

Winter accessories will further enhance the operator experience while snowblowing in harsh weather. Grasshopper’s Metal Winter Cab is a really popular add-on, especially when adding other optional features like a heater kit and windshield wiper.

Little Bully Dozer Blades

Available for FrontMount mowers, the Little Bully™ Dozer Blade is truly a multi-purpose tool you will find a use for all year long. It’ll do all the things a big bulldozer can do–like push dirt, sand and gravel–only on a smaller scale. That’s why a Little Bully Dozer Blade is such a great solution for a variety of outdoor projects around the house like landscaping, grading, and leveling gravel driveways.

A Little Bully Dozer Blade is particularly efficient at plowing snow. With the operator’s weight positioned directly over the drive wheels, a Grasshopper FrontMount mower can maintain exceptional traction. The compact nature of the machine, combined with its zero-turn maneuverability, makes it a nimble solution for plowing driveways and other tight areas. The blade itself can be easily angled 25° left or right, allowing you to direct the snow where you need it to go.
